Pakistani Delegation led by Chief Justice Federal Shariat Court visit Turkey from 15-20 May, 2016.

ANKARA: 18 May 2016: At the invitation of the Justice Academy of Turkey, a high- level delegation comprising members of high judiciary from Pakistan is visiting Turkey from 15-20 May 2016. The visit is aimed at sharing experiences on judicial systems of the two brotherly countries that will contribute to further promoting mutual cooperation in the field of judicial training.


Led by Chief Justice of the Federal Shariat Court, Justice Riaz Ahmad Khan, the Pakistan delegation includes honourable judges and senior officials of the Federal Shariat Court, Sindh High Court, Balochistan High Court, Islamabad High Court, Federal Judicial Academy, Shariat Academy of International Islamic University, Competition Appellate Tribunal, and Al-Meezan Foundation.

The delegation was apprised of the structure and functioning of Turkish judicial system during a briefing at the Turkish Justice Academy, that was also attended by President of the Academy Mr. Yılmaz AKÇİL. The Pakistani delegation also called on the President of the Constitutional Court of Turkey, Mr. Zühtü ARSLAN, besides visiting Ministry of Justice, Court of Cassation, Council of State, and Country Court House in Sincan, Ankara. During these interactions, the delegation also apprised the Turkish hosts
about the judicial system in Pakistan and showed keen interest in sharing best practices on both sides.

Pakistan’s Ambassador to Turkey Sohail Mahmood also welcomed the visiting delegation and senior members of the Justice Academy of Turkey at the Pakistan House. Matters relating to Pakistan-Turkey cooperation came under discussion. Both sides reaffirmed the resolve to further deepen mutual collaboration, including through regular exchange of information, high-level visits, and organizing training activities.

Hon’ble Mr. Justice Zahoor Ahmed Shahwani takes oath as Acting Chief Justice, Federal Shariat Court of Pakistan on 16th May, 2016 at Federal Shariat Court Building, Islamabad.

Hon’ble Mr. Justice Muhammad Anwar Khan Kasi, Chief Justice Islamabad High Court administered oath to  Hon’ble Mr. Justice Zahoor Ahmed Shahwani as Acting Chief Justice of Federal Shariat Court of Pakistan on 16th May, 2016 at Federal Shariat Court Building, Islamabad.



Hon’ble Justice Mrs.Ashraf Jahan, takes oath as Judge of Federal Shariat Court of Pakistan on 31st  October, 2015 at Federal Shariat Court Building, Islamabad.

Hon’ble Mr. Justice Riaz Ahmad Khan, Chief Justice, Federal Shariat Court of Pakistan administered the oath of office to  Hon’ble Justice Mrs.Ashraf Jahan as Judge  of the Federal Shariat Court of Pakistan at Islamabad.

Number of guests including  Hon’ble Judges of Federal Shariat Court as well as prominent Lawyers and Officers of Federal Shariat Court attended the Ceremony.

Mr. Justice Dr.Fida Muhammad Khan, Mr. Justice (Retd) Riaz Ahmed Khan, Mr. Justice (Retd) Sh.Najam ul Hassan and Mr. Justice Zahoor Ahmed Shahwani take oath as Judges of Federal Shariat Court on 8th August, 2014.

Hon’ble Mr. Justice Sardar Muhammad Raza, The Chief Justice Federal Shariat Court  administered the oath of office to Mr.Justice Dr.Fida Muhammad Khan, Mr. Justice (Retd) Riaz Ahmed Khan, Mr. Justice (Retd) Sh.Najam ul Hassan and Mr. Justice Zahoor Ahmed Shahwani as Judge  Federal Shariat Court at Federal Shariat Court of Pakistan on 8th August, 2014.

It was a simple but impressive ceremony attended by a number of guests including Attorney General of Pakistan, Hon.Judges of Islamabad and Peshawar High Courts as well as prominent Lawyers and Officers of Federal Shariat Court.
